Leadership Toledo offers adults a nine-month experience that brings various issues faced today by our community to the attention of its participants. Class members from diverse backgrounds come together for intensive sessions that focus attention on the needs of our community and the roles they can play in addressing those needs.

Each monthly session provides for educational and participatory experiences, including dialog and development of professional relationships among class members. In addition to the regular sessions, participants work in teams performing community volunteer projects to be completed by the end of the program year.

Only 40 class members will be selected each year. Tuition is $2500, which includes all materials, a lite breakfast, and lunch at each session.

Leadership Toledo seeks candidates who have already exhibited leadership in their respective spheres of influence and a desire to grow as leaders and members of the community. Participants are chosen to represent various professions and industries so as to provide a wide variety of knowledge.

Youth Leadership Toledo

Through skill development and educational opportunities, the nine-month program introduces participants to the needs of the community and inspires individuals to take an active role in making an impact.

yipee

Juniors and Seniors who graduate from the Youth Leadership Toledo program may chose to stay active in Youth In Philanthropy Encouraging Excellence (YIPEE). Sponsored by the Toledo Community Foundation and facilitated by the staff of Leadership Toledo, students meet from September through May and work to identify key problems facing youth, raise money, review grant applications, and allocate money to local youth-serving organizations.

STudents in Action

The Students In Action (SIA) program is a component of the national Jefferson Awards organization and is facilitated locally by Leadership Toledo. At 40 area high schools, student leaders are redefining the culture of their campus to one of service by heightening peer awareness of volunteer opportunities and by bringing attention to ordinary students involved in extraordinary volunteer work. Student leaders establish both selection criteria and the frequency in which Youth Jefferson Awards will be presented to their deserving classmates.
